Sarcostemma acidum (Roxb.) Voigt is a valuable medicinal plant to treat number of diseases in India. Four compounds were isolated from the whole S. acidum. The structures characterized as Friedelin (1), ?-amyrin (2), ?-sitosterol (3) and 4?-Carboxy-4?-methyl-5?-cholesta-8,24-dien-3?-ol (4) by extensive spectroscopic (NMR, FT-IR mass) analysis compared their spectral data with literature. vitro anti-inflammatory activity (1-4) extract was carried out against denaturation protein using egg albumin method standard dichlofenac sodium. showed inhibition concentration dependent manner.
